Do you ever think what you might have done differently if you had another life?
I wonder if the Queen wonders how different her life might have been if she had never needed to be Queen, if Edward had not abdicated and the role of responsibility had fallen to someone completely different.
For the rest of us mere mortals such fantasies extend to wondering about how our lives might have been different if we had taken a different job or marriage. Not that I am for a second supporting the claim that the grass is always greener but one always is led to wonder what if, even, I would say, the most comfortable of souls. But, I do sometimes wish that I had lots of lives to experience lots of different things, far more than I will have time to fit into my one existence. It would enable you to live a faultless life; learning the first time and then living the second perfectly!
I suppose it really teaches you to make the most of every single day as you won’t get it again and try to live one’s best life with what you’re lucky enough to have!
